And I'm sure (assuming you're normal) you had the same reaction as me, which was pretty much pure repulsion. I mean, 10 procedures at once? When she already looked fine to begin with? I think Heidi Montag-Pratt needs to see a psychiatrist ASAP.
Now, I'm not one of those people who is anti-plastic surgery. That would make me a complete hypocrite being that I've actually had plastic surgery. (A breast augmentation, in case anyone was wondering.) I think that as long as a person is choosing a procedure for the right reasons, and they've done their research and thought long and hard about it, they should do what makes them happy. I've known people that have suffered from debilitating self-esteem issues because of their insecurity about a certain body part(s). If there is something that bothers you that much, then by all means, have it altered to your liking. But I think Heidi is sending the wrong message to girls that you can make yourself physically perfect as long as you pay up.
What Mrs. Pratt fails to realize is that there is beauty in imperfections. No one can ever be perfect, and that's okay. In fact, that's wonderful. It makes us human. If Heidi was that unhappy with her previous appearance, I can guarantee you she will find just as many flaws in her new self.
Plastic surgery is definitely not the key to happiness. I was never insecure about my breasts before. They were small, but perky, and they fit my body perfectly. Billy was against it all the way, telling me I was perfect the way I was. After going through with it, I'm definitely happy with my decision, but I do feel like I went a little too big and I have to be very conscious about what I wear and how I look, especially since I work with kids. When I eventually get my breasts re-done (after I'm done having babies and nursing) I plan to get much smaller implants put in, to look similar to the way I did before. Kinda ironic, huh?
None of us are immune to looking in the mirror and being disappointed with what we see. I'd love to have Jennifer Aniston's body. I'd love to have a perfect tiny nose, and nice cheekbones, and green eyes. But if given the choice, would I actually change myself to look like that? I'd have to say no. It just wouldn't be me anymore, and as much as I think I could be improved, I kinda like me.
So yes, I do think plastic surgery is acceptable as long as it's done in the right way. I know many people disagree with that and think that we "shouldn't change what God gave us". To that I say, Do you wear makeup? Do you dye your hair? Do you remove unwanted hair? Isn't that, in a way, changing what God gave you? I know plastic surgery is more extreme, but if it makes someone happier and more confident, then I see no problem in it.
The only thing that is unfortunate is when it makes a person virtually unrecognizable. Or, of course, when it's a botched job. What a nightmare that would be. But there's definitely good plastic surgery.
Take Jennifer Aniston, for example:
She's actually had multiple nose jobs, but each one has been subtle, leaving her looking like her natural self, just a little improved. Oh, but the second nose job was not for cosmetic reasons, it was purely to repair a deviated septum. They always say that. But hey she looks fabulous, so good for her.
Blake Lively
Ashlee Simpson
Now if I was to ever get a nose job (which I'm not, but hypothetically), I'd totally go to Ashlee's surgeon. He gave her a natural looking nose that fits her face perfectly.
Halle Berry
Angelina Jolie
I'd consider all of the above mentioned procedures to have been successful. Then there are those celebrities who make themselves virtually unrecognizable after their procedures.
Megan Fox
I'll be honest, I don't know what she's done to her face. She's definitely gotten lip injections, but besides that I really can't tell. All I know is, she no longer looks naturally beautiful. She looks like a fake doll or something. I definitely think she looked better before she became a Hollywood bombshell.
Nicole Kidman
Here's a woman who I truly believe was naturally gorgeous. So why did she have to go and mess with her face? What's with the lips, Nicole? You look ridiculous now.
Meg Ryan

Here you have another actress who couldn't come to terms with aging. When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorite movies of all time. When I watch it, I am entirely smitten with Meg Ryan and her adorable self. Now her face looks completely frozen. What a shame.
And now we come to the truly horrifying results of bad plastic surgery. Can you believe that these women actually chose to do this to themselves? Just take a look:
Nikki Cox
You may remember her from the television shows "Unhappily Ever After" and "Las Vegas". She was gorgeous before! Now she looks like her face has been steamrolled.
Vivica Fox
BAD boob job.
Madonna
I don't think commentary is needed for this one.
And last but not least, Tara Reid:
Pre-plastic surgery
Post-plastic surgery
Botched boob job
Botched Liposuction
Her efforts to repair the damage obviously didn't help much. I think the girl is a lost cause.
So how do you guys feel about plastic surgery? Have you had any? Would you have any? And how far is too far?
As usual, all opinions are welcome! (But please remain respectful)

I saw these pictures of Heidi and apart from her breasts, without looking real closely, i couldn't see much difference.
Then i looked closely at her face, and realized that she looks nothing like she used to.
She kinda looks like Heidi Klum now?
While she was a beautiful girl before, she now just looks like a double of someone else, and thats the most sad thing of all.
Im not even going to get started on the others, cause whether they are bad or good jobs, they still needed to change themselves, cause they weren't good enough (i always highly doubt these 'medical' reasons, cause if they were a problem why were they not fixed sooner?) and thats what they are telling people, in my opinion.
Regarding Heidi my fav part is she says she is doing this because this is the only way she can be a pop star...ok? lol you have to be able to sing first! (I dont know about you but I will take a sloppy drunk Amy Winehouse over her music anyday!
Too each their own, it's not my body.
It sadens me to see these women distroy that beautiful gift of beauty :( but I guess some people are never happy.
Plastic surgery looked scary when I saw Tara Reid's body!!
Hi... Looking ways to market your blog? try this: http://bit.ly/instantvisitors
I say if it will make you happy and feel better about yourself then go for it...but to take it to the extreme and make it that you no longer resemble any part of your former self, i think that it going to far.
Heidi was beautiful before...now she doesnt even look like the same person! She did something to her jawline to make it wider or something. She already looks now 10 years older at least...she will regret this when she is 40!
All Tara Reid needs to do is gain 15 lbs and get a real job and she will look fine.
I was watching this show a while back about young girls who had plastic surgery done. And a point they made is that if you go into plastic surgery, thinking this will make you perfect and happy, then you shouldn't have plastic surgery.
I would love to have a rhinoplasty. LOVE. My nose doesn't fit my face and when I was in high school, it was all I could think about. But I know it wouldn't make me a happier, more self-assured person. Maybe my face would be a little more symmetrical but true happiness comes from within. Maybe having a "prettier" face would make me feel better about myself but I would rather feel better about my personality, talents, and abilities than the fact that I'm pretty. For me, it's just not worth it.
Plus, I'm not a big fan of surgery. After seeing so many people experience the after-effects of surgery, there is NOTHING in me that wants to do it for some unnecessary.
Heidi looks ridiculous. I never thought she was pretty in the first place and I'm pretty sure that the plastic surgery is just making her look worse. I agree with you about someone wanting to get plastic surgery to fix something that they don't like (nose, boobs, etc.) but to get procedures done that change the person that you at once were, is going a tad overboard in my opinion!
I agree in that there is definitely such thing as too much of a good thing (ie, plastic surgery). I've always been naturally thin, but I am just about 100% German and the first thing people notice are my hips. Let's just say they are much larger than the average size 2. Being pregnant has only expanded them - that German stock sure does know how to have babies! - so I've mentioned to Husby a few times that when I'm done having kids I might want to get some lipo to bring them back down to their original size. Nothing crazy and only if exercise and diet don't help. Lipo is a very real and scary procedure that has very serious side effects.
I've also mentioned fixing my nose. I broke it when I was a freshman in high school and have a bump ever since. Some days I look at it and hate it, others I think it's just fine.
Knowing me, I'll probably never go under the knife and will stick to botox, but I'll never judge someone who does choose to go that route. I just hope whoever decides to take the plunge keeps it healthy.
i think Heidi looks way way worse. She looks about 50 years old! There is nothing worng with 50 but looking 50 when you are 23?? not cool. How does she not see it???
I found your blog at newlyweds next door. I loved your blog and am following you.
Nice post. Not much fan of the surgeries. Prefer natural beauty anytime.
Girl....loved this post! I would love to have some reconstruction done....but for the most part I am pretty happy. Ha! Nothing a little exercise can't fix! Heeeee!
And Nikki Cox just scared me. Holy cow sh was gorgeous before. I would sue
I think plastic surgery is ok to a point but then you have people take it to the extreme like the above mentioned celebs. Too much for me.
I agree with you, I think if done responsibly then it isn't an issue - Heidi Pratt on the other hand - HAS AN ISSUE.
I think Heidi look much better before the surgeries! and Megan Fox... WOW. I never really knew she had any procedures done & I think she was really pretty before she became addicted to lip injections... which in my opinion NEVER look good on anyone
I completely agree with you. I think she needs to seek some mental health help. I mean her boobs just look ridiculous now.
And poor Tara Reid....the surgery has just made her...ew.
Wow, first of all, I didn't realize you had had a boob job! From your photos, it looks like they did a great job. I'm blessed with 36Ds and sometimes I wish they were smaller.
Plastic surgery -- I think if it's for something like a nose job, ears pinned back, boob reduction or implants -- THOSE are things that people get teased about and in the case of a boob reduction, it's a health issue. So I think if it's something that you have thought on for YEARS and it would improve the quality of your life -- then go for it.
But to get addicted and be unrecognizable afterwards? So bad. Heidi looks like any generic Hollywood blond at this point, and the surgery did age her. Before she had a unique look and I thought her somewhat large chin was cute.
Honestly she looks like she should be doing porn at this point. Wouldn't surprise me if she did.
Meg Ryan makes me sad.
I don't care what people say... I would rather look like Jamie Lee Curtis any day than Meg Ryan, Madonna, or any other of those women that have not aged gracefully. On the other hand....I would pay a pretty penny to have work done that turned out as nicely as Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie
Oh my word, Tara's last pictures scare me. When was that?? Oh dear she was sickly thin. I love Jennifer Aniston & think her nose job(s) look beautiful as do Ashlee Simpsons. I see nothing wrong with a little plastic surgery, but sometimes people go over board ...as shown above. They say it can be an addiction that some people cannot stop. Sad. I am 100% getting a lift after I am done having and nursing kids. I think it will be my reward to myself! :)
Some of this is so sad. I'm glad you pointed out that there is beauty in imperfection.
Some of these pictures are so sad - Megan Fox was a natural beauty at one point & now just looks like a brunette Barbie.
I definitely agree that people can take plastic surgery too far. I'm planning some of my own (like you did) & will work to make sure that I don't end up too big to fit my body.
Love your blog - you've got a new follower. :)
Oh wow! You know who else I was noticing...the girl from Greys Anatomy (Meredith, cant think of her real name) she doesnt move her face much any more, her lips are ricidulous!
After my 5 children I will hopefully pop out, I was a tummy tuck if I need it. The hubs is ok with it. I mean Im going on 3 c-sections...my tummy muscles cant handle all that torture and expect them to just go back to normal! haha
I nominated you for an award!
